Questions about Live BPM.
Is Live BPM free?
Yes. Live BPM counts the tempo for free — by tapping or through the mic — with ads and a short wait between mic detections. Counter+ removes both with one payment. Full Kit is a yearly subscription: everything in Counter+, plus Track ID, Monitor, Match, and the session library.
Do I have to tap?
No. Hold the phone up and let the mic read the tempo. Tapping is there for when the room is loud, the music is ambiguous, or you would simply rather.
How accurate is the reading?
Live BPM measures to a tenth of a BPM (0.1 BPM), and a confidence gauge shows how settled the reading is. Loud, steady material settles quickly. In a quiet room, or on music without a steady beat, it tells you it cannot read rather than showing a number it cannot stand behind. The free Counter shows whole numbers; the tenths come with Counter+.
Does Live BPM work offline?
Live BPM works offline. Tempo detection and every tool run on the phone with no connection — only Track ID and cloud sync need the internet.
Does Live BPM record or upload audio?
No. Live BPM uses the mic to measure tempo on the device, and the audio is not recorded or sent anywhere. Track ID is the one exception: it sends a short acoustic fingerprint — not the audio — to identify the track.
Which devices does Live BPM run on?
Live BPM runs on iPhone with iOS 15 or later, and on Android 7.0 or later. It also runs on iPad, and on Mac with Apple silicon.
What language is Live BPM in?
Live BPM's interface is in English.
Is Live BPM a metronome?
No. Live BPM measures tempo rather than producing it. There is a visual beat indicator, but no click track.
Do I need an account?
No. Open it and count. An account only carries your work between devices: your settings on any plan, your sessions on Full Kit.
