Tap the BPM of anything you can hear.

Tap along to the beat and this page reads the tempo. It runs the same tap engine as Live BPM, in the browser — nothing to install, no account, on a phone or a laptop.

Confidence

Tap, click, or press the space bar.

How to use it

  1. Play the music, or listen to it in the room.
  2. Tap the pad, click it, or press the space bar — once per beat.
  3. Keep going: the reading settles after about eight beats. If it locked onto half or double the beat, ÷2 and ×2 fix it.

How accurate is tapping?

Accurate enough to beatmatch, if you tap steadily for eight beats or so. Tapping measures your timing as much as the music’s, so the reading drifts when you do. The confidence gauge fills as your taps agree with each other.

What the app adds

Live BPM can listen. Hold a phone up and the mic reads the tempo without you tapping at all, follows it as it drifts, and lines it up against another source. Free on iPhone and Android.
